Batting first in this 7th Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season, Ilford batters had no answer to the bowling of Puneet Singh Bal who scooped his maiden '5for' (6 for 38) to skittle out Ilford for a below-par 140. Opener Ashok Gupta was the cornerstone of the Ilford innings in striking a fine 60.

In our run-chase, Puneet Singh Bal was our top-scorer with 21, but unfortunately he didn't receive any support from his fellow batters and we capitulated to 78 all out.

A memorable day's work by Puneet, but our 4th XI will hope to perform better next week.
