A sobering start to the league season for a young Belhus 4s side as they slid to a 10 wicket defeat.

Batting first proved tough on a spicy pitch, skipper Jim Robertson (43) and league debutant 13 year old Reuben Hart (21) battled hard in tough conditions to add 80 for the 3rd wicket getting Belhus to 100 for 2. Sam Hisscott hit some crisp boundaries in a lively 33 not out and Belhus posted, what they hoped, was a competitive 167-7 from their 40 overs. Mann Patel and Mital Patel were the pick of the W & S attack with 2 wickets each.

Alas the visitors were untroubled as openers Y.Singh (85) and R.Rajesh (65) combined to breeze to the target in just 23.1 overs. A tough day at the office for the young Belhus bowling attack. Well played Wanstead and Snaresbrook who were deserved winners and played in a good spirit.
