On a hot sunny day, our 3rd XI were disappointed to lose the toss but highly delighted when Hornchurch invited them to bat first.

Reuben Hart continued his fine form of the season by stroking his sixth half-century (73), and James Maynard posted 56* to take our 3rd XI up to a very respectable 224 for 6 after the allotted 40 overs.

In their reply, Hornchurch were unable to handle some fine bowling by Tyler Martin, who captured 3 for 6 from just 2.4 overs, and also Imran Mohammed who collected 3 for 13 from 8 overs as he passed 25 wickets for the season. Skipper Martin Mailey enjoyed another competent game behind the stumps as he snared 3 catches and Belhus marched home to a decisive 134-runs victory. Well played team.

Having won their last 6 matches, our 3rd XI now sit in 2nd place in their Division. And with 4 League matches of the season remaining, they are just 12 points behind the leaders Westcliff-on-Sea.
