Belhus were invited to bat on a pleasant if breezy day at Thames RFC.

Young Sam Hisscott took full advantage in stroking a magnificent career-best 79 including 13 fours. Skipper Jim Robertson provided the main support with 49 (5 fours) with the pair's 5th wicket partnership of 87 being the highlight of the Belhus innings of 186-9. Koniki was the pick of the Wood attack with 2-21. Youthful spinner Best bowled a fine spell of 1-35 from 11 steady overs also.

In reply, the visitors were well placed on 94-1 with Barker hitting an aggressive 60 and Philpotts 33. But Matt Friend produced a great spell of seam bowling to remove both the established batters and turn the game in Belhus’s direction.

Friend ended up with 4-28 and Alan Maidment 3-37. Harvey Stapleton continued his development with a tidy spell of 1-14 from 4 overs but Wood held on for a draw in a closely contested match. Belhus pick up 9 points and are currently 7th in the table after two successive draws.
