Skipper Martin Mailey won the toss and elected to field first. Although Buckhurst Hill then proceeded to bat steadily down the order, we did well to restrict them to 194 for 9 after their allotted 50 overs. Ben Gladman was the star of our bowlers in producing a superb, accurate display that earned him a return of 5 for 27 (his fourth '5for' for the Club) from his 11 overs.

In our reply, opener Tom Thompson (37) and Alfie Ware (23) batted sensibly, but when we were perched on 118 for 6 we weren't too optimistic about our prospect of reaching the target. But Vansh Mehra had other ideas as he crafted a determined, match-winning innings of 71 not out to steer us home to a 2-wicket win.

Well played Belhus. A good all-round performance by our 3rd XI that produced a much-needed 20 points, leaving them with 7 matches of the League season remaining.
