Belhus 2nd XI managed to beat the weather this week and were the only side for Belhus CC this weekend to do so.

Wanstead & Snaresbrook won the toss and elected to bat. They were quickly reduced to 30-3 thanks to some very consistent bowling from Ashir Saleem and Tyler Robertson. Wanstead's 4th partnership put together 53 runs before A.Ahmed was dismissed for 23 runs. Belhus continued to bowl and field well throughout the remaining of the innings, eventually dismissing Wanstead for 219 thanks to a late spell from Josh Reynolds who picked up 3 for 21 from his 5-overs and Tyler Robertson finishing with 4 wickets.

After tea Belhus got off to a stuttered start losing 2 early wickets which brought Jack Plane to the crease. Jack and Simon steadied the innings and put on 48 before Jack top -dged to cover and was caught for a brisk 32 runs. Following this, Belhus continued to lose regular wickets and were unable to put a steady partnership together and were bowled out for 131.

Overall, this was a solid performance for Belhus 2nd XI as for many this was their 1st game of the season and it was good to see everyone excited and ready for the season ahead.
