Match report On a sunny, but cold evening at North Stifford, Belhus Hurricanes played against Belhus Fireflies for the second time in three days. Both teams fielded different sides from the previous game, but there was no lack of effort from either side, after the Hurricanes won the toss and elected to bat first.

The opening pair of Aaron Mansfield (14) and Elliot Osborne (7) made a strong start for the Hurricanes (Elliot was captaining the Hurricanes in his final appearance for the team before moving up to the U11's squad). The Fireflies did well in the field, with the pick of the bowlers, Aishy Myuran, taking 2 wickets for 15 runs in her three overs. The Hurricanes finished their innings with a total of 301 (200 + [107-6]).

The Fireflies made a steady start with Bella (captain) and Ashli picking up 2 runs each, before Levi Garrett came in at number 3 and top-scored for the Fireflies with 5 runs. Millie Walker made 3 and Ava Thompson attempted a late innings charge making 4 runs, including a well-struck boundary. In the end, however, the Hurricanes, despite bowling a large number of extras, managed to take a number of Fireflies wickets, including a well-executed run-out, and the Fireflies ended their innings with a respectable 273 (200 + [97-24]). Leonardo Picconi finished with remarkable figures of 4 wickets for 4 runs, Yash Soni picked up 2-13, while Nooh Malik and Abhinav Dharmani chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Victory to the Hurricanes, but a good effort by both sides - the players will have learnt a great deal from this game ahead of their league fixtures next weekend. Best of luck to both Belhus sides for the rest of the season!
