Match report The first game of the season saw Belhus Hurricanes play against Belhus Fireflies in a friendly fixture. This was a good chance for all new players to both sides experience playing a real game with umpires and scores.

Stand out performances in the Fireflies innings include Levi Garrett (19) and Marilyn Halil (10) - Levi's 19 was the top score for the whole game and included four boundaries. Leonardo Picconi picked up three wickets and Aaron Mansfield two. The Fireflies ended on 256 runs (200 + [86-30]).

The pick of the Hurricanes batters was Elliot Osborne who hit 16 runs. There was a wicket each for Ava Thompson, Levi Garrett and Ruby Allsop-Cadby and the in the end the Hurricanes put up a total of 315 (200 + [124-9]).

So the Belhus Hurricanes ran out winners by 59 runs, but it was the experience that counted most and the game will have served all players well for the rest of the season. Good luck to both teams!
