Our 1st XI won the toss and elected to field in this final match of the Hamro Foundation Essex League season.

Shenfield made their way confidently to 113 for 3, but their last 7 wickets fell for just 44 as spinner Joe Joyce bowled superbly to capture 5 for 21 (his 3rd '5for' of the season) and Nathan Khelawon and Jack Plom took 2 wickets apiece as we dismissed Shenfield for an under-par 157.

In our run- chase, Joe opened the innings and carried his bat for an undefeated 67 and with support from Nathan Khelawon (33*) we reached the required target to win comfortably by 6 wickets.

Skipper Max Osborne's side finished Runners-Up in Division One of HFEL. And in a year when 3 of our matches were abandoned and 1 was cancelled, the team can feel justifiably pleased with their 2023 campaign.
