In batting first, Jack Plom scored a fine half-century (53) and Ryan Wells (39), but we could only post a below-par total of 203 all out.

In their reply after tea, Fives didn't enjoy their best of days with the bat as the economical Dulanjala Mendis bowled superbly to take his maiden '5for' for the Club (5 for 17 from 12 overs) and with 'keeper Lewis Blake taking 3 fine catches, our Ist XI cruised home to a comfortable 104-runs victory. And it was only the fourth occasion in the club's history when all 10 opposition wickets to fall were caught. Interestingly, and unusually, not one of the 20 wickets to fall in the match was clean-bowled.

With 5 matches of the League season remaining, Max Osborne's team now sit in 2nd place in Division One of the Hamro Foundation Essex League.
