Batting first in this fourteenth Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season, all of our 5th Xi batters enjoyed the sun and posted a highly respectable 268 for 7, with James Maynard our lead run-scorer stroking a fine 56.

In their run-chase after tea, our target was just a little too far for the Upminster batters and as we were unable to capture any more than 4 wickets, the game fizzled out to a Draw.

Skipper Barry Ruck's team are sitting in 5th place in their HFEL Division, with a realistic prospect of climbing to the runners-up spot before the season is out.
