Orsett batted first in this eighth Essex League match of the season and racked up 186 for 9 from 45 overs as Tilly Barneet and Baiju Mohammed took 3 wickets apiece.

Our run-chase after tea didn't produce one of our better batting performances of the season, with only Aftab Mohammed (29) and Peter Clark (18*) showing any resistance to the Orsett attack (Rahib Imtiaz 4 for 26). Sadly we were dismissed for just 92 to lose easily by 94 runs.

Despite this blip on our League campaign, skipper Barry Ruck's 5th XI are perched in 3rd place in their Division with 10 matches still to be played.
