At North Stifford in this fifteenth Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season, Hornchurch batted first and registered a competitive total of 288 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs with Paul Murray, George Hankins and Adeel Malik all stroking half-centuries. For Belhus, Gus Philpot and Shane Barwick picked up 2 wickets apiece.

In reply after tea, skipper Max Osborne led our positive reply in striking 40 before being run out, and then Joe Joyce (131) and Matt Doran (88*) batted superbly in a 199-run 2nd wicket partnership to see us home to a comfortable 8 wickets win.

With such a convincing victory, our 1st XI look forward to the remaining 3 matches of the season with a degree of confidence, as they strive to retain their place in the HFEL Premier Division in 2023.
