Batting first at Castle Park in this Hamro Foundation Essex League match, Colchester racked up a pretty competitive 323 for 6 declared with only Shane Banwick enjoying a decent day with the ball in capturing 3 for 65.

In our run chase after tea, Danny Joyce struck a fine 56 but we were up against the wall when perched on 104 for 7, until a dogged 127-runs 8th wicket partnership between Dan Norris (75) and Billy Winter (59*) enabled us to see our way through to an honourable Draw.

Still sitting in 9th place in the Premier Division, our 1st XI are looking to click together and put in a few decent performances in the remaining 5 matches of the season.
