Belhus won a tightly-contested final on a famous day for the Club as we hosted the SECPG Youth finals day at North Stifford Village Green with a Belhus side reaching all three finals.

Inserted after losing the toss, Belhus made an average 131 for 7 with Aidan Fourie top-scoring with a lusty 23. Rob Healy (22), Gus Philpot (21), Brandon Millard (18) and skipper Henry Overy (16) all added useful runs, but Kian Garrett (2-4), Dhruv Solanki (2-25) and Haydn Owen (2-21) kept the score in check and it was game on at the break.

Overy removed Brazier for a duck but Solanki retired for a fine 35 and Orsett & Thurrock were well set until Garrett holed out to Philpot in the deep off the bowling of Callum Constantine to make a vital breakthrough. Wickets then tumbled as Philpot took 3 for 15 and Sammy Fairweather and Tyler Robertson picked up one each. Shourish Subramaniam made a brave effort with a powerful 25 to bring Orsett & Thurrock back into the game. The key moment was an amazing direct hit run out by Philpot from the boundary that removed danger man Callum Greene. O&T needed 16 off the last over and fell just short with Belhus the winners by 8 runs in a closely fought contest.
