Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 58 Runs

Match report The Lightning began their 2021 campaign against a strong Benfleet performance squad. Batting first, we were in trouble losing 8 wickets in the first 9 overs, however Aaryian Kansagra regained some momentum from his 20 runs including 5 boundaries. William Sullivan chipped in with 9 runs and combined with a well-hit 12 runs from James Webb at the end got Belhus up to 98 runs. For Benfleet, Ben and Ibrahim were the pick of the Benfleet bowlers with their 2-5 and 2-6 respectively.

Belhus made a decent effort with the ball with William Sullivan rounding up a decent all-round game with 1-4 while there was a wicket a piece for Aaryian Kansagra, Sam Hiscott and Ben Gladman. Sadly, more wickets were needed as Sam (19), Louis (17), Ben (15) and a hard-hit (30) from their skipper Alfie ensured Benfleet won comfortably by 58 runs.

Overall, not a bad return to normality against a pretty strong team.
