Batting first, Belhus posted a modest all-out total in an overs-reduced Premier Division Essex League match at North Stifford. Joe Joyce (76) and Shane Barwick (37) were our leading run-scorers after we suffere a collapse from a comfortable 153-3 to lose 7 wickets for 25 runs and be dismissed for 178.

After tea, Merv Westfield (56) and Adeel Malik (29) made a valiant attempt to chase down the runs as Hornchurch progressed assuredly to 101-3. But another fine all-round bowling performance by Belhus saw Sahan Nanayakkara collect 3 for 27 and Max Osborne, Dan Norris and Joe Joyce 2 wickets apiece, to guide us home to an 18-runs victory.

Our 1st XI are still perched in 6th place in the table with 2 matches of a keenly-flought season remaining.
