Harold Wood batted first and were bowled out for a modest 167, with Sahan Nanayakkara taking 3 for 23 and Joe Joyce and Max Osborne collecting 2 wickets apiece.

In their run-chase, our 1st XI were pretty well poised at 80-4. But not for the first time this season, they were unable to maintain any momentum and proceeded to lose 6 wickets for 19 runs to be dismissed for 99 and suffer a miserable 68-runs defeat.

In their final Essex League match next week, the 1st XI meet bottom-of-the-table Billericay at North Stifford and despite the outcome, they can rest assured that they'll enjoy another season in the Premier Divison in 2022.
