Belhus Cricket Club Lost By 20 Runs

Match report The under 11s had a hard fought game against Leigh on Sunday. Winning the toss yet again Belhus took to the field and snared 4 run outs in the first 2 overs, James Parker claiming 2 at point. Leigh on Sea looked dazed however recovered through good knocks from Alex D (13) and George (13) who both rotated the strike excellently. Newcomer Aryan Patel put the breaks on with a incredible spell of 2 overs claiming 4 wickets for just 13 runs and was ably supported by Lewys Worleys 1-7 and Alfie Wares 1-7. Leigh took lots of risks and lost 12 wickets in the process however knocked up 139 runs with Gabs top scoring with (16) supported by Jack (13) and Austin (11). nearly 40 extras was racked up during Leighs innings which was unlike us, 23 of them coming from wides.

With a moutain to climb chasing 101, The under 11s needed an exceptional batting display and started well as Oliver Davy hit (10) hard fought runs including 2 boundaries. Austin Medlock a wicket-less (7) runs and a powerful innings from Aaryian Kansagra who smashed (16) runs including 3 boundaries to all parts of the ground. Max Ballard (8) and Alfie Ware (7) tried hard but unfortunately fell short of 20 runs. For Leigh, Jade was particularly impressive with his 1-9 left arm bowling, but best figures was returned by Gabs with his 2-11.

Overall, a great attempt at a massive total. We simply bowled far too many extras on the day that probably cost us.
