Belhus Cricket Club Won By 62 Runs

Match report Belhus U13 continued their strong start to their season with a third successive win on a bright sunny morning at John Burrows Park, the home of Hadleigh and Thundersley.

Skipper Henry Overy won the toss for Belhus and confidently chose to bat. After the initial shock of losing Oliver Plunkett to the first ball of the innings Belhus made headway with Overy making 16 before Robert Healy and Alexander Winder both retired on 26. Charlotte Waters and Kyle Hewson both made 9 and Owen Williams 8 as Belhus built up a sound total of 162-7 from their allotted 24 overs. Charlie King was the pick of the home attack with 2 for 18.

Belhus took to the field and quickly grabbed a firm stranglehold of the match when they bowled. Callum Constantine, Owen Williams and Oliver Plunkett all took two wickets apiece to rock Hadleigh onto the back foot. Rogers did hit back for the hosts retiring on 25 and Jones made a useful 17 not out but a Belhus win was never in doubt. There was a fine direct hit run out for Kyle Hewson and catches for Constantine and keeper Rob Healy. A good win for Belhus - well played.
