Our U13 youth member Khuzaima Afridi had a day to remember at Widford Lodge School. Batting at number 3 he made a finely crafted 66, his maiden half century. But Khuzaima was not done yet as he also grabbed his first five-wicket haul as his probing swing bowling captured excellent figures of 5 for 24 from his allotted 7 overs. All of his victims were clean-bowled which is a great credit to a young player.

Belhus enjoyed the fine batting conditions as Brian Edwards and Akther Raju made unbeaten half-centuries and Adeel Afridi on debut (Khuzaima’s Dad) made sure he didn’t miss out with an unbeaten 52 as Belhus racked up 313 - 4.

Ingatestone also cashed in with the bat with Steve Cooper muscling his way to and unbeaten 50, while rogether with Steve Fletcher (44) and Frank Ward (37) they posted a respectable 256 - 8 in reply.

Edwards added a couple of wickets to his half-century and Farhan Malik bowled well to take 1-34, but the day certainly belonged to Khuzaima.
