Another hot day saw our 4th XI bat first and proceed to notch up what they thought would be a match-winning total of 300 for 8 after the allotted 40 overs. Aftab Ahmad was in superb form as he took centre stage by crashing his maiden century from just 48 balls (8 x 4s, 9 x sixes) - the second fastest ton in the Club's history, just behind Dylan Sinfield's 42 balls against Eltham in 2025. Mohammad Sadman Hossan supported well with 56 from 51 balls.

After tea, Belhus felt confident when taking the field but Ingatestone's Ian Steel put paid to their hopes by slamming a fine 97 from 70 balls, and with Harry Wharram contributing an undefeated 56, he guided his side home to a well-deserved 3-wicket victory with 1 over remaining.

Any match involving 600+ runs is always memorable and this was no exception. Well played all. Despite the heat wave, a thoroughly enjoyable day.
