Belhus won a high scoring early season match at Cromer Road.

Stand in skipper Jim Robertson won the toss and chose to bowl. Imran Mohammed was the pick of the attack taking 3 for 32, well supported by 13 y/o Freddie Martin with 2 for 28. There were wickets for Billy Maidment and Puneet Singh Bal also. George Fletcher top-scored for Hornchurch with a big hitting 78 not out.

In reply, Michael Cansdale got the Belhus train moving with a quick-fire 35 while opener Ryan Prendergast played the key anchor role with a well made 53. The star of the innings was 16 y/o Aariyan Kansagra who fashioned an excellent career-best 82 not out to lead Belhus to victory. Prendergast and Kansagra added a key partnership of 105 to position the Belhus chase and there was a further 57-run partnership from Puneet Singh Bal (22 not out) and Aariyan to see Belhus to a good win with 9 balls to spare. Pick of the Hornchurch attack was Naveed Kamboj with a steady 1-38 from his 8 overs.

A fine start to the season for Belhus 3s in an enjoyable, good spirited match on a surprisingly mild April afternoon.
