Benfleet batted first in this Sunday 35-over friendly when only James Clarke (51*) and Benny Thankach (36*) reached double figures and posted just 133 for 9.

Opening with the new ball for us were Stephen Baldwin (4 wickets for 22) and daughter Evie-Mae who collected 2 wickets for 34 as she became the Club's FIRST BOWLER TO TAKE 50 WICKETS this season. Congratulations Evie-Mae.

After tea, our optimism to chase down what we thought was an under-par Benfleet total soon waned as Elliott Hendry helped himself to 5 for 38, and with only Michael Cansdale making a decent score (28) we were bowled out for a disappointing 103 to lose by 30 runs. Well played Benfleet.
