This was the 3rd XI's opening Hamro Foundation Essex League game of the season.

Batting first, we were only able to rack up what we thought was an under-par total of 138 and that was due primarily to Imran Mohammed who remained unbeaten on 40. For SLH, Daryl Woodford was the stand-out bowler whose economical spell produced 3 for 18 from his allotted 9 overs.

After tea, the match ebbed and flowed with Imran proving difficult to score from as he captured 3 wickets for 15 from his 9 overs. But with just 11 balls remaining, Stanford crept over the line to win by 2 wickets thanks to Rama Krishma Bashamoni steering his side home with 36 not out.

A fine, evenly-contested match played in good spirit. An enjoyable match to start the new season.
