Belhus won the toss and elected to bat first in this Hamro Foundation Essex League match at North Stifford, and this proved to be the right decision as they racked up a highly satisfactory 275 for 5. Skipper Jack Plane led the way with a commanding 151 not out (the Club's highest score of the season) ably supported by James Maynard (36*) and Wayne Read (30).

In their reply after tea, Goresbrook batted bravely in their attempt to chase down the runs (Kauchik Yelari stroking a half-century), but they just failed to hold out for a Draw as skipper Plane held the winning catch off the bowling of James Webb to dismiss the last Goresbrook batter and earn 25 points from the 51-runs victory.

A convincing win by our 2nd XI. And with 7 matches of the season remaining, they are are still perched in second place in their Division.
