In an overs-reduced HFEL match at North Stifford, our 2nd XI batted first and were slightly disappointed to post 210 for 6 from their 37 overs. Afif Khan (42*) and Alex Blake (34) backed up top-scorer Henry Overy (69) who produced a welcome return to form.

In their reply, Horndon opener Awais Mohd batted well for his half-century and Rob Hutcherson occupied the crease with a dogged 15*, as between them they prevented the Belhus attack from bowling out Horndon. James Maynard was the pick of our bowlers with his 3 for 17 to see the 2nd XI maintain their position at second in their League Divison, halfway through the season.
