Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 3 Runs

Match report The first league game of the season saw a tightly contested match played at our home ground in North Stifford.

Belhus Hurricanes won the toss and put Orsett & Thurrock Titans into bat. The Hurricanes started well with the ball, especially the second bowling pair of Jack Jarvis and Yash Soni who picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Tom Barton hit an aggressive 25 for the Titans in the last few overs to take their total to 289 (200 + [128-39]).

The Hurricanes began their innings slowly and steadily until an explosive knock of 18 runs from George Hill (from 24 balls) and a late burst from Ethan Brown (13 from 12 balls) took the Hurricanes close to the target score. In the end the Hurricanes fell 3 runs short of the Titans total with a score of 286 (200 + [104-18]).

So in the end the Titans ran out winners in this enjoyable and well contested first league game of the season.
