Belhus batted first on what looked to be a decent batting track. However runs proved to be difficult to get in the early overs. A 65-run partnership between openers Billy Winter with 38 and Gavin Jefferies who ended on 85 laid a decent foundation. Another good partnership of 64 between Jefferies and skipper Ian Wright(17 runs) set up 13 year old Jack Pantelli to play some lovely cricket shots in his quick 26 not out, getting Belhus to 202 off their 40 overs.

After tea, Rob Long ripped the heart out of the Hayes top order removing all 5 top batsmen and taking 5 for 11 off 6 overs. Joe Kallis offered some resistance with 41 runs,before 11 years old Donovan Wright on debut sent him back too, Wright taking 2 for 13. There were wickets apiece for Tony Ellis and Owen Jefferies as well dismissing Hayes for 133.
