On a very green strip at Shoebury Park, the Belhus openers struggled and at 18 for 3, the visitors were in serious trouble. Ian Wright (23) and Lee Hawkes put on 50 for the 4th wicket before being one of captain Stevenson's 4 victims. Lee Hawkes, supported by Aftab Ahmed (23) went on to make an excellent 70 being 9th out and seeing his side to a respectable 155. Johnson finished with 3 for 63 from 15 overs.

Belhus claimed early wickets but opener O'Connor kept the home side well ahead of the asking rate. However, Rob Long, with 5 for 39, was removing O'Connor's partners, none of whom made double figures. When Ian wright removed O'Connor's leg stump, 7th out with the score at 99, the pendulum swung the visitors' way.

However, an excellent 30 from junior player J Bunce caused concern until he fell 10th out with his side 22 runs short for a Belhus victory.
