Paul Tibbenham struck a match winning undefeated 112 from 116 deliveries for Hadleigh and Thundersley at North Stifford on Sunday, though Belhus responded well after tea through Roy Heffernan with 59 not out and Michael Cansdale, 56. Tibbenham, who struck twelve boundaries, featured in an opening stand for the visitors of 109, which ended when Heffernan ran out Oliver Wagstaff for 42. Snelling added a half century for Hadleigh while for Belhus, Steve Huckstepp and Mathew Lewis scored 35 and 39 respectively in this opening game of the Essex Sunday League (East division).

The day's most successful bowler was Dave Slaughter who claimed three Belhus wickets for just 22 runs from eight overs, while Billy Winter for the hosts bagged 2-29 from four overs.
