Match report On a overcast but hot + humid day, Old Southendians won the toss and decided to bat. Making the most of the perfect bowling conditions, Paul Whitlock started the fall of wickets, bowling the two openers with full, in-swinging deliveries. Coming on as first change, Jack Martin-Hussey decided to join the act, picking up 3 for 7 off 4 overs. The innings was then wrapped up with an additional 5 wickets for Paul Whitlock who finished with figures of 7 for 29 off 15.4 overs, along with good support from Terry Squires and Cliff Cansdale.

With the bat, Belhus got off to a flyer, Gary Wood crashing the ball to all parts of the ground and finished with a superb 71 n.o. including 13 fours. An excellent first SNEL victory for the 4th XI.
