Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 7 Wickets

Match report Belhus were put into bat and lost their first wicket, 7th ball of the day. The batsmen then dug in to put on another 79 but then lost Steve Huckstepp at the midway point, just as he was looking to push on. Richard Day ran himself out, again just as he was looking set. With wickets always in hand, 52 was scored of the last 5 overs to push the score to 210, with Roy Heffernan ending 46 not out.

Old Brentwoods innings began with Z.Mahmmod injuring his knee, forcing him to retire. 3 balls later Solari was bowled by James Terry and things were looking good. However this brought the left hander Khawaja to the crease and he quickly showed his intentions by hitting 4s with his first 4 scoring shots. He reached his 100 in 70 balls but was then stumped with 3 to win, going for another big shot to end the game. Scott Bayford injured a back muscle while fielding before he had bowled a ball and left the field shortly after. This was a big blow to the attack as he had been bowling well as first change in recent weeks, and also left holes in the field.

Although the 1st XI still have to win a game, the form is looking good and improvements are being made each week.
