Match report After several days of bad weather leading up to the game, getting it on was an achievement in itself. With a wet, long outfield and a wicket that was always going to be slow, a low-scoring game was expected and that's exactly how the game was.

Horndon batted first and lost Danny Joyce in the first over, caught at second slip off the bowling of new boy James Terry. Jeff West Jnr batted well after the first wicket, but when he was caught in the covers for 29, runs dried up. This changed when Ed Powell came in at number 7 and scored 39 off 40 balls. This innings proved to be worth its weight in gold and took the final total to 128 for 8 wickets off the full 40 overs. Richard Waters finished with figures of 4 for 16.

Belhus began the chase well, but always found runs hard to come by. An opening stand of 50 was reached when U-15 Billy Winter was bowled for 23. His opening partner, Gavin Jefferies went on to make 52 but then gave his wicket away in the 35th over with the score on 108. This left 21 to win off 5 overs with still 7 wickets in hand. The innings continued to stutter along and finally finished 3 runs short.
