In this sixth Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season, Upminster batted first and posted a very respectable 295-7 due to a magnificent innings from Tasmanian Beau Webster who stroked 172 off 147 deliveries incuding 8 sixes. Of our bowlers, paceman Jack Plom took 3 wickets and spinner Joe Joyce collected 2.

In our reply, three of our batters contributed half-centuries - Joe Joyce (53), Matt Doran (52) and Gus Philpot (51) - but they were unable to kick on. At one point we were poised at 166-3 with a slim chance of reaching the required target, but we then lost wickets at the wrong time as Shafiq Rahman took 3 for 35 and we settled for an honourable draw. Skipper Adam Wheater took 3 catches behind the stumps.
