Belhus were invited to bat first on a damp wicket and slow outfield as Gus Philpot stroked a patient 63 and Matt Doran made a better than run-a-ball 70 as we closed out on a modest but competitive 212 for 4.

In reply, Epping made their way confidently to 31 without loss, but then a collapse occurred as they proceeded to lose 4 wickets for just 3 runs and the tide turned in our favour. Thereafter, Epping were never really in the hunt as paceman Jack Plom took 4 for 22 (9 overs) including Bangladesh Test opener Imrul Kayes, and spinner Dalunjala Mendis 4 for 23 (10 overs) bowled superbly to take the initiative and we eased home to a comfortable 98-runs victory together with 20 well-deserved Essex League points.
