In their penultimate Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season, our 1st XI required a win against bottom-placed Shenfield to stand a remote chance of remaining in the Premier Division in 2023.

Batting first, Shenfield could muster just 209 for 7 from their allotted 50 overs thanks only to Jack Plom who struck an unbeaten 68 not out.

After tea, and chasing a relatively small target, Belhus collapsed to 17 for 6, and despite a gallant unbeaten 80 from Shane Barwick, were dismissed for 166 to lose by 43 runs. Well played Shenfield. Naturally, both teams will be hoping for greater success in Division One next season.
