Our 1st XI batted first in this eighth Essex League match of the season and soon found themselves in deep trouble at 28 for 4. But a determined 5th wicket 101-runs partnership between Nathan Khelawon (64) and Shane Barwick (73) and a late flurry from Dan Norris (48), saw our total lift to a competitive 260 for 8 declared after 63 overs.

In the run-chase after tea, the match was evenly poised with Shenfield perched on 118 for 3. However, wickets fell steadily thereafter and they were eventually bowled out for 231 thanks to a great spell from player-of-the-match Dan Norris who took 5 for 23 from 14 economical overs to provide Belhus with 25 valuable points. Well played Belhus.
