Belhus lost the toss (again) and Leyton Orient Supporters CC elected to bat first in this 40-over encounter at North Stifford. A good start with the ball from Paul Whitlock (1-38) removed one of the openers. Belhus tried all they could to stop the flow of runs but a fantastic partnership of 181 was finally ended when Riley Everett (2-55) took the wicket of the well set opening bat Minkey L.B.W for 90.

In reply, a score of 258 looked a tall order and especially when well set opener Jack Plane got a good one and nicked behind. Wickets continued to fall at an alarming rate and an early finish looked likely with Belhus struggling at 99-6 off 23 overs.

However, a fantastic partnership of 108 for the 7th wkt between skipper Scott Sinfield (73) and Simon Walker (74n.o) resurrected the match and had Belhus requiring 40 off the final 5 overs. Sadly, skipper Scott ran out of legs trying to force the rate. Paul Whitlock and Simon Walker continued the onslaught to fall just 17 runs short. A great effort in the end to get so close at stumps when Belhus looked dead and buried and a heavy defeat likely.
