After inserting South Weald in to bat, a very young Belhus bowling attack bowled beautifully to restrict Weald to 186 for 9 in there 35 overs, on a ground with a very short boundary to one side. Ben Gladman, Riley Everett and Alfie Ware all picked up 2 wickets and Charlotte Waters and James Webb one each. There was also an excellent run out by Michael Cansdale. P Stroud led the way with the bat with a nice 54, supported by D Stainer 35, P Warriner 26, A Wells 19.

After losing James Maynard last ball of the second over for 0 and Charlie Walker for 3, Belhus began to set about the run chase with relish, as Michael Cansdale smashed 66 with 8 fours and 3 Sixes as he put on 127 runs with Brandon Millard who also scored a lovely 66, which included 12 fours and 1 six, this was in fact Brandon’s first senior 50 for the club. Belhus then lost 5 wickets for 20 runs of which Weald began to think they may be in with a chance of nicking a win, Reilly Everett scored 14 of them with a four and a six, but captain Read joined Charlotte Waters at the crease and the victory was secured, in what was a really good game played by all.
