This 35-over midweek match was part of Rainham's 125th Anniversary celebrations. Batting first, Rainham posted a respectable total of 198-9 with fine half-centuries from Skip (53) and Raj (51) as Teddy Waters bowled well in taking 2 for 28 from his 6 overs.

In our run-chase after tea, Wayne Read stroked 25 but it was Henry Overy who stole the show in batting superbly for a career-best udefeated 96 to steer us home to a thrilling 1- wicket victory in a thoroughly enjoyable match played in excellent spirit.
