Great Waltham posted a competitive 186 for 7 in their 40 overs, thanks to a very good 64 from G Bloom and 49 from T Parish who put on 119 for the 1st wicket, that set the tone for their innings, C White got 21 and D Richardson 18. D Aldridge was the pick of our bowlers with 4 for 19 off 10 overs and 4 maidens.

In reply, B Edwards got 13, but it was only W Read with yet another half century who was our main hope of chasing down the total, as others failed. Read fell for a good 58, with 7 fours an 3 sixes, at 92 for 2 and we lost 7 wickets for 19 runs, before J Banner rallied at the end with 18 not out along with J Robertson 12 and R Waters 9, as we ended up falling 33 runs short.
