Encourage your child to learn the Laws of Cricket and play within the laws and 'the spirit of the game'.

Discourage unfair play and arguing with umpires, team managers or team captains.

Help your child to recognise good team and individual performance - not just results.

Never force your child to take part in sport.

Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performances of all.  In cricket, there is a tradition of applauding all players and umpires from the pavilion area, when they leave the field of play.

Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.

Publicly accept officials' mistakes
.

Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.

Ensure your child arrives at the correct time for all club events and with appropriate equipment.

Please use correct and proper language at all times.

At home junior matches, assist with setting up and down of club equipment such as furniture and scoreboard.

Never distract a young player by shouting - especially when a ball is 'live'.  At best this is an irritation, at worst it could cause serious injury if a player takes his or her eye off the ball.

Ensure you pay any subscriptions, match fees or any other costs in a timely manner without the need for a reminder.

Support your child to take advantage of coaching schemes organised by the club, the County Board and the County Cricket Club if he or she wishes to do so.

Recognise that players and officials have priority for catering facilities at lunch and tea intervals.

Volunteer to help your club to help your child and other members.

Umpires, scorers, coaches, managers, caterers and administrators are always required. Please contact the club captain if you would like to assist in some way.
