Belhus lost to Springfield in this Bank Holiday Monday friendly. Springfield won the toss and batted first and took full advantage of the Belhus bowling attack as they racked up an impressive 284 for 4 from their 40 overs. S Ellis scored a good 49, just missing out on his half century, J Symonds certainly enjoyed himself, as he smashed 132 to all parts of the ground and R Haynes had fun too as he ended up 70 not out in what was going to be a total that we would no doubt not get anywhere near. J Robertson picked up 2 for 60.

In reply, a few batsmen got in (T Thompson 22, W Read 20, P Huckstepp 25) but never really went on to trouble the Springfield attack. S Bayford had some fun hitting 33 with 5 fours and 1 six, and F Baptiste scored 22 at the death with 4 fours, but we ended up a long way short of the target and Springfield won by 115 runs.
