Belhus won the toss and put Woodford Green in to bat and a fine spell of bowling from Paul Stone, backed up by our other bowlers, did the job, Stone picking up 5 for 37 in 17 overs with 6 maidens as Woodord Green were bowled out for 156 in 44.1 overs.

Belhus set about chasing down the total in some style with Martin Guilbert and Wayne Read carrying on from the week before. These two made short work of reaching the target in 23.1 overs. Guilbert hit his 2nd consecutive 50 since being promoted to opening the batting. In fact, he finished with a lovely 72 not out which included 10 fours and for a while the opposition thinking he was Wayne Read the way he was batting, to the amusement of our two batsmen. But it was Read who dominated the Woodford Green attack and his 78 not out, included 15 fours, as we romped home to win by 10 wickets in some style. A very nice way to end our first league season in the Morrant League.
