Belhus won the toss and put Old Westcliffians in to bat on a very hot day in the hope of bowling them out quickly. That didn't go quite to plan, as it took the 53 overs to do so, but with the target at 142, the bowlers had done more than their job restricting the batsman, J Williams top-scoring with 30. K Hall. and G. Werry were the pick of our bowlers picking up 3 wickets each from long spells, following on from the good work of our early attack.

Belhus made what was tricky work of a smallish total on a slow pitch, and soon realised why the Old Westcliffian batsmen had struggeld against our bowlers and at 44 for 6 we were in deep touble. But a crucial stand of 63 from J.Forrest and S.Bayford proved to dishearten the bowlers, and when Bayford fell for a very good and quick 42 out of the 63 stand with 6 fours, and the score at 107 for 7, the game was far from over. It was left to Forrest to see us home with support from Rob Waters, Forrest finshed on 45* with 6 fours and 1 six in his innings, Waters was 6* in what proved to be a very good tight game.
