Put into bat, Essex Taverners racked up 52 for 6 before declaring, as all their batsmen chipped in and scored well, P. Bridges 36, J. Kennedy 31 and J.Girling 31*, but it was S. Stock who led the way with a good 52 and an excellent 47* at the end from J.Cook. K Hall was the pick of the Belhus bowlers with 3 for 40.

In reply, all of the Taverners bowlers bowled extremely well and Belhus could never quite get going as we limped to 122 for 5 to claim a draw, T Lincoln 37 with 8 fours and C Adam 25* the only real plus points for the home side's batting on what turned out to be not a good day.
