Belhus Cricket Club Midweek 1st XI v Horndon-on-the-Hill on Fri 23 Jul 1999 at 6pm
Belhus Cricket Club Lost by 4 Wickets
Match report
THURROCK 16 8 BALL OVER HANDICAP KNOCK OUT FINAL
Belhus (30) 160 for 2
Horndon (10) 161 for 6
Batting first, Belhus scored 160 in their allotted overs, Andrew Cayless leading the way with a lovey 61* and Wayne Read a good 41*, as the Horndon bowlers bowled very well in restricting us.
Horndon set about their task well and good all-round contributions with the bat from Steve Cole 44, Dave Towler 41 and S.Ballard 37 was enough to ensure that Horndon reached the total with an over to spare. Although Steve Liddiard had bowled well picking up 2 for 25 and Mark Winter 3 for 3, it was not enough to halt Horndon as once again Belhus lost in yet another TKO Cup final.
