Belhus beat Meopham by 4 wickets in this Friday friendly game during their Cricket Week.

Batting first, Meopham racked up a healthy 229 in their 40 overs, J.Ward 32, J.Fotheringham 27 and G.Monk 73 were the main run-getters and M.Winter was the pick of our bowlers with 4 for 54 off 14 overs and Rob Waters and G.Plane both picked up 2 wickets.

Belhus set about the chase from the off, but at 52 for 3, after losing, A.Lincoln 8, T.Lambert 13 and J.Banner for 0, the game was poised to go either way. Then Brian Edwards came to the crease and there he remained until he hit the winnings runs with a six. Brian's 106* was his maiden hundred and a fine innings it was, showing authority and intent right from the start, his innings included 16 fours and 2 sixes as he took us to victory. He was ably assited by W.Read's 56, with 7 fours and 2 sixes, in what was an excellent game and very good win for Belhus in what had been a lovely Cricket Week for meopham.
