Match report Belhus warmed up for their weekend league clash with Southend with a good win against a competetive Rainham side in this friendly at Spring Farm Park.

Skipper Henry Overy lost the toss and Belhus were invited to bat. Despite a fine 23 from the captain, Belhus slumped to 65-6 and looked in danger of being skittled out for a low total and not batting their 20 overs in full. Step forward Tyler Robertson who shelved his recent run of low scores to make a career best 34 not out. He added 32 with Kyle Hewson (15) and then critically Robertson and last man Seth Coelho (4 not out) added an important 32 run for the last wicket and also ensured that Belhus batted their allotted 20 overs.

Rainham came out of the blocks hard storming to 40 from just two overs as just Porter thumped 26 in quick time before retiring. But credit to the Belhus bowlers who stuck to their task. Coehlo, Overy and Robertson added a wicket apiece to their earlier vital runs and young Lucas Barnett removed the dangerous Fevzi-Hunt first ball. There were fine catches to Robertson and two for the ever involved Overy, but the stand outs for Belhus were Aidan Fourie ( fine figures of 3 for 9) and the gun barrel straight bowling of Owen Williams (excellent return of 3 for 3 all bowled) who pinned Rainham back. Oakes made a swift 27 and the retired Porter returned to be dismissed for 35 as Belhus won a good game by 29 runs.
